Stability in Child Developmental Homes

Our child developmental homes are loving environments where providers nurture children who are unable to live with their biological families. We aim to help these children find stability and permanency through reunification with their parents, adoption, or another court-ordered plan.

 Developmental Homes

In our developmental homes, providers open their hearts and homes to adults with developmental disabilities. We focus on teaching essential skills and promoting fulfilling lives.

Compatibility

Applicants can choose to provide care for individuals of any gender, child, or adult, with a thorough discussion of desired placement characteristics during the application process. Individuals placed in developmental homes have diverse disabilities, medical conditions, and behavioral issues. Placement decisions consider the strengths of the applicant(s), aiming for compatible and enduring relationships for the benefit of the individual placed.

Compensation

Once licensed as an ADH/CDH provider, compensation is provided for room and board and habilitation services. Room and board cover household expenses, while habilitation pays for support and training given to the individual. These are combined into a daily rate, paid for each day the individual is in the provider's home. Providers are independent contractors, receiving payments twice a month and tax-free developmental home reimbursement. Providers may work outside the home without interference, excluding hospital or nursing facility stays.

Support

The family support coordinator serves as a regulator and supporter. Ensuring providers adhere to licensing and record-keeping requirements, coordinating ongoing training, and managing the yearly renewal process. Acting as an advocate, the coordinator attends meetings and aids in problem resolution for both the provider and clients. Monthly home visits maintain quality assurance and support.

Respite Services

Providing a compassionate solution for primary caregivers, our respite services are here for you whenever you need a break. Our certified respite providers are dedicated to supporting individuals in fulfilling their needs within the comfort of their homes or communities. A daily respite stipend is allocated to the provider at their discretion. We work closely with family partners to ensure that respite providers possess the necessary qualifications, identified as suitable caregivers. Our family partners offer essential information and training to potential respite providers, ensuring a caring and qualified support network.

Dedication Required

Becoming a licensed developmental home provider is a significant commitment that warrants careful thought. If it feels overwhelming, consider alternative ways to positively impact individuals with disabilities. Explore options like volunteering, becoming a respite provider, serving as a CASA, acting as a surrogate parent for a child in foster care, or participating on the Foster Care Review Board. Each avenue offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in a way that suits you.
